What's the point?
Writing this site has made me realise that it is easy to miss the reason why bikes are popular:
Bicycles are fun to ride
The sensation of riding a bike, rolling along, going round corners, whizzing down hill, pushing on the pedals to go up hill, is fun. Not always fun if it is cold and wet, granted, but fun most of the time.
This must be remembered. There's lots of technical information on here, and it's to help describe a bike that doesn't get in the way of the fun. A bad bike isn't fun, but a fantastic expensive superbike isn't vastly more fun than a good bike.
People who talk a lot about bikes often don't ride them very much. People who ride a lot talk about roads and places to go. That's what's important.
