Condor
This bike came in as a frame to be repaired and built up. The owner has had it for 40 years and loves it. It's from about 1960 and has a few dents. There was a crack starting at the seat clamp slot. The solution is to braze a washer below the slot, and drill a hole to stop the crack growing. This kind of work is normally done by Ken, but he's been off sick for a while so Neil practiced his brazing until he was able to do it.
The customer had already chosen to get it clear powdercoated, which looks good and shows off the lovely brazing Condor did. The seatstay bridge is an old repair with 5/8" tube done many years ago. We offered to do it again properly, but the customer saw it as part of the history of the bike and it does work.
The build is a mix of old and new parts which suit the bike. This is much better than trying to find period parts which don't work very well, or fitting new parts which look horrible on this sort of bike.
