There are two kinds of suspension forks; the cheap rubbish that either goes floppy or seizes up, and the expensive stuff that works but has a service life measured in hours.
Cheap suspension forks are very heavy, and much of their comfort effect is due to mass damping. As they are very heavy, this makes the front wheel stay on the ground.
